New York, NY, April 15, 2009 Furthering its strong commitment to educating and preparing lawyers for important career decisions, David Carrie LLC organized and presented a compelling seminar on behalf of Duke Law School’s alumni association, held at the New York office of McDermott Will and Emery LLP, hosted by MWE Partner Tom Giegrich.
A distinguished panel of lawyers discussed their careers “apart from law firms” and provided advice to those wishing to pursue similar paths.
Professor Sara Sun Beale of Duke University offered insight about her career in education. James Keating, Legal Search Consultant, David Carrie LLC discussed his career in legal recruiting. Jamie Eisner, General Counsel, Golden Arc Capital, Inc. provided a look at in-house careers. Jocelyn Strauber, U.S. Department of Justice, described her experience working as an Assistant United States Attorney and how she got there. Emily Smith, McDermott Will and Emery LLP offered an inside perspective of her career as a Legal Recruiting Coordinator.
The event was well-attended and was broadcast via the Internet to those unable to view the session in person.
